Answers To Your Questions

 

1.  How do students look up a Dragon ID number?

--Go to MSU Moorhead's 'eservices' web page http://www.mnstate.edu/home/NEWREG.HTM

--Choose 'Lookup ID', then enter SSN and PIN (Personal Identification Number). PIN is initially set to birth date YYMMDD (Year/Month/Day) or PIN is the last six-digits of Social Security Number. This will only work if you are logging in for the first time and your PIN has not been changed.

 

 

2.  How do students update addresses, emails, etc?

Please make certain the Records Office has your accurate email, local and permanent addresses on file. Go through the eservices site.  Click on "Account Management" from the left menu and then select "Address Info". 

 

 

3.  Where does anyone find a list of available classes at MSU Moorhead?

--Go to MSU Moorhead's 'eservices' web page: http://www.mnstate.edu/home/NEWREG.HTM

--Choose 'Course Schedule' on navigation bar. Be sure to choose appropriate Semester when searching for specific courses.

 

 

4.  What if you are a current  MSUM student and want to register for  Continuing Studies or Saturday classes?

Current MSUM students may register for classes via the online registration system by choosing the 'eservices' web page: http://www.mnstate.edu/home/NEWREG.HTM

 

MSUM students may register for self-paced packaged courses by special permission through the Continuing Studies office; refer to  Registration Instructions.

 

 

5.  What if you are not an MSUM student and want to register for Continuing Studies or Saturday classes?

--Students should download, print and fill out a Continuing Studies registration form. (This form requires Adobe Acrobat Reader which can be downloaded at  http://www.adobe.com.)

 

 

6.  Who is considered an Undergraduate Special Student?

--Students who have completed a high school diploma or GED and who are not seeking a degree at MSUM but who wish to take courses for enrichment should enroll as special students. Students who have been denied admission may not be considered for special student admission.

 

--Special students do not qualify for federal financial aid, are not assigned to a faculty advisor and are not eligible to participate in the Tri-College University.

 

--Special students are not eligible for graduation. Students who are enrolling in 12 or more semester credits during a term should apply as degree seeking students.

 

-- Students must submit an official academic transcript from high school or GED scores and transcripts from any previous post-secondary institutions attended. Students will be evaluated for admission using the criteria described under Transfer Admission.

 

 

7.  How to register for courses as a special student.

Print, fill out and return a Continuing Studies registration form.

 

 

8.  How do you apply for Reciprocity if you are not a Minnesota resident?

Tuition reciprocity agreements are in effect for students from North Dakota, South Dakota, Wisconsin, and Manitoba, allowing students to pay tuition at a rate comparable to Minnesota tuition rates.  Tuition reciprocity instructions are located at http://www.mnstate.edu/records/Reciprocity/Instructions_To_Apply_For_Reciprocity.cfm

 

 

9.  How do you get an email account at MSUM?

All MSUM students are required to open an email account.  You can do this at http://www.mnstate.edu/it/services.htm.

 

 

10.  How do you pay for a tuition billIMPORTANT PAYMENT INFORMATION About Your Tuition Bill!!

--Go to http://www.mnstate.edu/busoff/

--Be sure to read the link about tuition and payment policy for the current
  semester

--To pay your bill, choose 'View / Print or Pay Your Bill on Line'

--Login using Dragon ID & PIN or Password

--Click on 'Bills and Payment'

 

 

11.  How do you purchase textbooks at MSUM's bookstore?

--Go to http://bookstore.mnstate.edu

--Click on 'Buy Textbooks' then 'Textbook Inquiry'

--Choose 'Term/Year"

--Then 'Search By Course' then 'Select a Number' then a 'Select a Section'

--Students will see a display of the textbooks and their cost for

   the course specified.

--Textbook costs are separate from the tuition and fees cost.

 

 

12.  How do you request an official transcript to be sent to another institution?

Go to http://www.mnstate.edu/records/transcript.cfm


 

13.  How do you apply as a Graduate Special student?

Post-baccalaureate students desiring to take courses for graduate credit but NOT seeking admission to a Master's program may enroll as Graduate Special students. Admission as a Graduate Student requires the following materials:

---Students should download, print, and fill out a Continuing Studies Registration Form.

--Attach a non-refundable $20.00 fee for first-time applicants to Minnesota State University Moorhead.

--Provide undergraduate degree verification.  (Unofficial copy of college transcript that reflects degree completion).
