I took a job at a private rehabilitation agency in Yakima, Washington. It's on the east side of the Cascade Mountain Range and gets 300 days of sunshine a year. It is gorgeous out here, but an entirely different world than Fargo-Moorhead. I guess that is why I am here. 1/7/2002 12:35:37 AM
Andy Beyer I was an RA on 4th floor Neumaier during '98-'99. During this same year, Neumaier got condemned, which moved my RAing duties to the 11th floor of Nelson. During '99-'00, I got the opportunity to RA on the 3rd floor of Grantham Hall. Then during '00-'01, I was the RA for West Snarr. I like to think that I am the only person who lived in every hall but two. I lived in Neumaier, Holmquist (for about a month or two), Nelson, Grantham, and Snarr. I didn't live in Ballard because of the all guy thing, and rules kept me out of Dahl. Well while at the college, I majored in Accounting, Mass Communications, and ended my college career with a B.S. in Elementary Education...and two classes away from an Accounting minor. I'm currently living in McKinney, Texas waiting for the school year to start so that I can be the 2nd grade teacher they hired me to be! FYI: McKinney is 36 miles north of Dallas. Take care y'all! 7/29/2002 1:52:23 PM

After three moves, and as many kids, we settled in Mankato, where I decided to try to finish college. Applied for my Associate's Degree in 1996 or 1997, in order to bypass having to go through Gen. Ed. classes again at Mankato State University. Graduated from MSU-Mankato in 1998 with a degree in Accounting. Worked in East Snarr as an R.A. and at Snarr Desk a LONG time ago!!! Am now "working" as a mom and wife, and preparing taxes out of my home. Have a wonderful husband and three great boys! Kyle Frisk It is so good for you to hear from me again. I was lost after the wonderful years at MSU. I didn't know what to do so I bummed around Fargo-Moorhead. Three years ago, I got the courage to seek out something different and moved to Minneapolis. Things have really started to fall into place for me. I have been working at Piper Jaffray in downtown Mpls. The market stinks, but this is still a great company to work for. I bought a house in Hopkins and love having a neighborhood. I have not been married. I do not have any kids either. In fact, I was on a dating dryspell for so long that I had given up. I got lucky and ran into my dream girl this summer. That is an interesting story, but I have to save something for the FAC. I can really ramble, but let me close with this: Some little sh!theads broke into my garage and raided my beer fridge so now I patrol nightly with a loaded paintball gun seeking my revenge. We moved back to Minnesota when a job identical to my husband's current position became available. He is now with NDSU and I work part-time for our church, St. Francis de Sales in north Moorhead. At the time of our move I was pregnant with our first child and opted to be a stay-at-home mom. We have two children, Abby is 5 and Sarah is 3. We just built a new house in Country Club South in north Moorhead. I worked in Snarr Hall as a deskworker and then Desk Manager in 1984-85 and 1985-86. I still keep in touch with a few old friends from Snarr - I have lots of great memories of living in the dorms!! 1/16/2002 4:40:24 PM
Eric Johnk I was an RA in Neumaier on 2nd floor and 6th floor during the years of 1988-1989(mid year) and the 1989-1990 school years. I was an El. Ed major and graduated in the spring of '91. I worked at Kise commons several years as just about everything. I also frequented the Union's rec hall and have my name engraved on the pool trophy for taking first a couple of quarters. I moved back to my hometown of Montevideo for several years and took a job as a custodian in the high school in hopes of getting a teaching job if/when one was available. After trying to get a teaching job for several years in MN, I decided to go to where the jobs were. I took a job working in Texas. I have since worked for three different districts. I worked in Allen for two years, Plano for six, and am currently in my second year in Denton, Texas. I have been teaching 6th grade math. I have also taught reading, science, and health. I went back and got my Master's degree in Secondary Education while working in Plano. I joined the ranks of homeowner last May. It is just me and my faithful four legged sidekick Brandy. I now need to correspond with all that I see here! 3/20/2005 7:59:57 PM

David Johnson Since my last update - life is quite different. I have now lived in Sweden again for almost 2 years. Something you need to watch out for when you marry a Swedish woman. Working on a project for Tele2 in many countries in Europe. 1/1/2006 2:02:58 PM

Julie Johnson I graduated in '97 and worked in Nelson/Grantham and Snarr for 3 years. Shortly after grad, I moved out to Colorado Springs (sans a job, friends, or more than 2 months rent) and have been here ever since. This place is amazing--I encourage everyone to move out here! Which, ironically, sent Jennifer Tagler away from the tundra of the north and into my house as of a year ago. Good times. ;) I am not married, not significantly involved w/ anyone except that cat that I purchased at a garage sale (long story), and not really minding either situation. Realistically, I'm shirking commitment as much as any true Gen-X'er will. I currently work for a non-profit out here in the field of Brand Management (basically marketing, strategy and product development). Whoever really thought we'd actually use those degrees? :) I'd heard rumor of this page but it took a road trip and a random drop in at my office by Ryan Sylvester and Michael Wilde to get me hooked up--and I thank them for it. Shoot a note if you get a chance: rite2jules@hotmail.com Jules :) 5/20/2002 2:03:13 PM
julie johnson i worked in nelson/grantham and snarr from 1994-1997, majored in mass comm. single and loving it. i live in nashville, TN and work for a non-profit that does child development in 3rd world countries. my part of the job is in relational marketing working with musicians and speakers who choose to partner their platforms with what we do--thus, nashville is an important city to be. i get to travel the world, meet fascinating people and feel like i'm doing something to throw at least a punch in the fight against injustice for the poor--what more could i possibly ask for. if you think of it, stop in and visit me on myspace at: www.myspace.com/rite2jules love to catch up! ~ jules 7/6/2006 5:53:38 PM

Kari Olson RA 7th Nelson 97-98 school year Spanish Major; Marketing Minor I sold insurance in the Twin Cities Metro for almost a year after I graduated (hated it), got layed off. I sold pianos at Schmitt Music in Brooklyn Center, MN for alomst 2 years, it's a fun job, but retail hours are less than stellar. As of today (4/16/04), I have five more days to work doing this. I'm about to start working at Business Incentives in Edina, MN. It's a non-retail, non-sales position, and I'm very excited. I plan on starting a Master's Degree in Management this fall and work through it a class or two at a time. I've got a nice boyfriend, we've been dating for a couple years. He's the hunter/fisherman type, so I get to go on a lot of outdoorsy trips, which is fun. I'm having a blast living in the Twin Cities. 4/16/2004 1:49:32 PM

I remain good friends with other MSU Housing staff: Kristy (Odlund)Fink, Tammy (Malik) Kincaid, Debbie (Taphorn)Wessel and Jean Walker. In fact, all were in attendance at my Oct. 27, 2001 wedding to Marc Paez (yes, we were late bloomers, but it was totally worth the wait!) I'd be interested in hearing from others of our era: littlecanadameg@yahoo.com 2/1/2002 4:01:50 PM

I graduated Magna Cum Laude in 1999 with a BA Musical Theatre Arts. While at MSUM I was a resident advisor for Dahl/Ballard Hall. It was an amazing experience: the staff, students, and campus! After graduating college I worked as an actress/model/dancer for the next 6 years. I worked in the theatre for two years and then made the big jump to TV/Film when I moved to LA, CA in 2000. I had gotten a bit part on TV's Young & the Restless and was hooked. I worked in TV/Film & Modeling for the next few years. Concurrently I had started a dance co. in LA called Universal Dance Co. It was pretty successful, in 2 years we danced 200+ events all over the US. It was my first taste in business and I decided to make a career change. Currently I am pursuing my MBA-Marketing degree and working in the Financial Industry. I have moved to Santa Barbara with my finace' and we recently purchased our very first home. No matter where I go in life I always carry around the Mid-west values I grew up with: family, honesty, integrity, and work-ethic. I think anyone who lived in the Mid-west can take pride in those values; people around the U.S recognize Mid-Westerners to have a strong character built on these values. I am proud to have grown in up in WI and attended a MN University. Thank you. Devyn Lisa-Witthuhn Seegers 4/13/2005 12:29:58 PM

Social life wise, I participated in the Mayville State University staff bowling team for three years, and continue to bowl on a team in Watertown. No marriage, no kids...but 8 nieces and 2 nephews total now. Also, my American Eskimo, Angel, still puts up with me, and after over a year of being in Watertown, Angel is still a little bored with living off-campus. I however, after almost 10 years of living-in total, am really enjoying the peace and quiet...miss the student development side of things, but like the peace and privacy. Michael Wilde UPDATE: In May, 2004 I moved (with my Beautiful wife Linda) to College Station Texas to begin work with a private off-campus student housing corperation (United Campus Housing) as a Director of Resident and Community Relations for a property of just over 1000 beds (called Melrose Student Suites). My son is still in Fargo, but we speak on the internet (video phone) and telephone often. Linda is from Puerto Rico and New York and life is ever changing, so who knows where we'll end up next. 10/26/2004 8:32:30 PM
Tom Williamson After graduating from MSU (last class prior to name change), I have wandered to and fro, here and there, and yonder. With such destinations as Flagstaff, AZ for graduate school and currently working at Macalester College in Residence Life. He has found "indie music." 3/29/2003 9:21:34 PM

Jacob Zimmerli Hello all! I was an RA and/or Complex Coordinator in Holmquist, Neumaier, and Snarr from Spring of 1996-Spring 2002. It was an excellent experience! I majored in Business Admin. and minored in East Asian Studies with my emphasis in Chinese. Upon graduation, I took a job in Production Managment at Hormel Foods Inc. and have since been promoted into the Human Resources division of their Corporate Headquarters as a Compensation Analyst. 10/3/2002 2:12:28 AM
