->By Now I believe everybody is updated about postponing our Ping Pong match we will still hold the event next week.

April 10th, 2008

-> A help appeal has been made for a Nepali girl suffering from Leukemia. Committee decided to donate $500.00 for her from NSA fund. More info will be posted as soon as we hear from them. You can also donate personally (http://swarnim.com/samikshya/).

Committe meeting on thursday decided to organize a PING-PONG match next saturday on April 19th, 2008. Guess what guys there will be FREE PIZZA. This will be an open match anyone can apply. Contact our sports co-ordinator Abhishek Bikram Shah for more info.

Also sometime next week (Hopefully on Wednesday), we will be organizing a Movie Night. It will be a free event. You will see Posters around CMU about this once we are sure when and what time. The movie will be our very own Oscar nominated Nepali Movie The Himalayas (Caravan).

March 26th, 2008
Once again we will be cooking fried MOMO and achar and also we will sell
the remaining artifacts from Nepal Yatra During CON. Cooking will be done at the
campus church by the Center for Business (CB) building on the same day from
11 AM to 2 PM, however we will prepare "kima" the day before. Volunteers are
more than welcome send us an email or stop by the designation listed below

Also, we are glad to announce the success of Nepal Yatra 2008. We have
turned this program with profitable outcome. Below is a summary on
how much we raised from the event.
Ticekts: $2500
Donations: $35
Auction: $277
Sale items: $146.26
Henna Tattoo: $30
Total amount collected: $2988.26

We are still receiving donations and therefore the amount to be donated to
NEWAH has not been confirmed yet.

We are almost done with the Pricing for silent auction. Background till yesterday was great. The only problem is walmart is out of the orange color fabric. Well we will leave that to experts they would come up with something. Remember todays the meeting. E-mails have been sent. Do check them.

**** Good news for basketball players***
We will be organizing basketball tournament on Saturday March 15th
from 8 am. Various teams from neighbouring colleges will be participating.
To discuss furthermore, we request all the players to attend our upcoming

Also Grand rehearshal for our event will be on Friday March 14th,CMU #101
starting 8:30 PM.This is mandatory rehearshal and we would like all the
participants to be ready with their respective program.

  • Probably the best news, Sodexho agreed to provide us their service for just $4.50 which was almost $9.50 last year. Deal was NSA would buy spices required. (I think that's a great deal, we will save almost $3-$4 each serving.) Also only 3 ppl from Sodexho employer would be provided for cooking. So Volunteers please step forward. Help will be appreciated.
