Awarded MSUM and SMSU Telecommunications Contracts BRAINERD— (Business Wire)-June 17, 2003—Diversified Networks, Inc. (Privately Held) announced today that Minnesota State University Moorhead (MSUM) and Southwest Minnesota State University (SMSU) have selected Diversified Networks to provide the Universities with telecommunications systems for their entire campuses. “MSUM had many goals when choosing its new system. The first was to reduce costs, and this system is estimated to save MSUM about $150,000 per year. The second was to make sure the campus had a modern, cutting edge communications system. We also wanted to make sure the system was compatible for future expansion if necessary.” Said Mark Rice, Business Manager at MSUM. “Diversified Networks put forth a solution that met all of these goals and then some.” “We wanted a reliable system combined with an ability to lower costs, and the new system offered by Diversified Networks provided both.” Added Deb Kerkaert, Business Manager at SMSU. “SMSU is expecting to save about $60,000 per year by choosing this system while also gaining increased service and quality.” “We look forward to working with MSUM and SMSU as their needs change and their campuses grow.” Said Diversified Networks CEO Gary F. MSUM is on a path to become a comprehensive university, offering a variety of professional, educational and traditional degree programs grounded in the liberal arts. The campus has 34 buildings on 119 acres, with an enrollment of 7,661 students and employs 870 people. Southwest Minnesota State University was established in 1963 and today serves 3,414 students. The academic buildings on the 216-acre campus are interconnected and fully accessible. U.S. News and World Report have ranked SMSU #1 in its class for six consecutive years. The University offers 46 undergraduate programs, 51 minors, four associate degree majors and four master’s degree programs. Construction has started on a new $18 million Student Center Complex, which will be the focal point of campus when it is completed in the fall of 2004.
